This is a blog undertaken with the most cautious skepticism as to its worth. It may prove to be, in the end, nothing more than an evasion of the very object it pretends to subserve. I am recording, anonymously, thoughts for myself that might interest a very few others as I try to come to terms with The Cloud of Unknowing through reading, reflection, and witnessing.

In general, the philosophical material is oriented towards a phenomenology of the states of the heart, which is to say, an analytical approach to mysticism. It is all very preliminary and highly syncretic, especially in the use of sources in European phenomenological ontology and Islamic Sufism.)
We get by perfectly well without knowing the author of The Cloud. So it matters all the less that anyone know or bother to fret about who is writing this blog.
